Video: Patriots Legends Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman Announce New Show

Joseph ZuckerOct 14, 2024

Former New England Patriots stars Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman are collaborating for a new podcast, Dudes on Dudes.

In Monday's announcement, Edelman explained he and Gronk will discuss past and present figures from the NFL and break down the "types of dudes." Gronkowski helpfully clarified how that classification includes "studs," "wizards" and "dawgs."

"People are going to be surprised by how smart this show is," Edelman said in a statement, per the Hollywood Reporter's Alex Weprin. "I also think they'll be surprised by how dumb it is too. It's not rocket surgery."

The pair plan on releasing new episodes every Thursday throughout football season.

This is Edelman's second foray into the podcast sphere. In 2022, the retired wide receiver launched Games with Names, a show where he and a rotating cast of guests break down notable events across multiple sports.

As one might expect given his outsized personality, Gronkowski also wasted little time pivoting toward a second career after he walked away from the NFL. He signed with Fox Sports during his football hiatus in 2019 and returned to the network after retiring for good in 2022.

There are no shortage of podcasts starring notable athletes, but Edelman and Gronk's endeavor is likely to find a steady audience from NFL fans eager to hear their insight.
