Malik Nabers Out for Giants vs. Bengals with Concussion; Still Has to Clear Protocol

Jack MurrayOct 11, 2024

The New York Giants will be without Malik Nabers for another week.

On Friday, head coach Brian Daboll told reporters that the rookie wide receiver has been ruled out for the team's Week 6 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a concussion.

Nabers suffered the injury during the Giants Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He missed the team's Week 5 victory over the Seattle Seahawks and now will hope to clear concussion protocol before the team's Week 7 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nabers was excellent in the Giants' first four games, making 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns. He still leads the team in receiving yards and looks like a centerpiece for the Giants offense.

New York will look to Darius Slayton, Eric Gray and Wan'Dale Robinson to pick up some slack in Nabers' absence. Slayton had eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Seahawks, leading the team's receivers.

New York heads into the Sunday night matchup against the Bengals hoping to get to .500 for the first time this season. Cincinnati is 1-4 and need a victory to get back on track in their season.
