Video: Bill Belichick Weighs in on Davante Adams Trade Rumors amid Jets, Saints Links
Amid rumors about a potential Davante Adams trade, legendary coach Bill Belichick gave his thoughts on the Las Vegas Raiders star receiver's situation.
The Raiders are reportedly asking for a second-round pick in return for Adams. Belichick said he believes that's too high of a price unless a team has confidence Adams can turn them into a Super Bowl contender.

"Not for a second-round pick, which is supposedly what they're asking for," he said. "I don't see how anyone is going to give up a second-round pick for him. You'd have to feel like this guy is going to take us to the promised land and he's going to get us over the hump this year, because he's also got a big salary."
Belichick also criticized the Raiders for their handling of the situation. He believes Las Vegas should have tried to trade Adams before the season started rather than letting the trade interrupt the season.
"It's a tough situation and that's why if you see this storm coming and it's brewing, it's a lot better to do it earlier rather than later," Belichick said. "Right now the Raiders are in a tough situation, but here they are. They've kind of put themselves into it. This wasn't a big secret, this storm's been brewing for a while and the longer you put it off, the harder it is to get anything done."
Adams, who has missed two games so far this year and could miss another due to a hamstring injury, has been linked to a handful of teams, including the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints.
As Belichick mentioned, the Raiders might have to come down on their asking price if they want to get a return for Adams, but that could be something they're not willing to budge on.
