Week 6 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet: Identifying Sleepers for Deep Leagues
We've reached that point in the NFL season when fantasy rosters are heavily impacted by injuries and bye weeks.
Injuries, of course, have been an issue throughout the 2024 season thus far. Byes have compounded the issue, though, and this week will see several key players out of action. The Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins have Week 6 off.
Many managers will need to rely on bench players this week, and many more will be searching for start-worthy options among sleepers and on the waiver wire.
Here, you'll find a look at some of the top wire targets for Week 6, along with a flex cheat sheet for point-per-reception (PPR) scoring formats.

Sleeper: Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants

With quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold off this week, managers may turn to streaming options. Believe it or not, New York Giants signal-caller Daniel Jones is worth considering in Week 6.
The arrival of rookie receiver Malik Nabers has indeed raised Jones' production, and while Jones still hasn't established himself as New York's long-term answer, he's inching toward fantasy relevance.
Against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, for example, Jones threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another 38 yards.
This week, Jones and the Giants will host the Cincinnati Bengals. While Cincinnati has an explosive offense, it also features one of the league's worst defenses. The Bengals have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.
Jones is a better streaming option than quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence and Justin Herbert this week. He's also still available in over 75 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.
Sleeper: Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier is becoming more than just a handcuff to Bijan Robinson. While Robinson, a 2023 first-round pick, has always been viewed as Atlanta's top backfield option, Allgeier has maintained a prominent role under new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson.
"Tyler's going to have a great role in this offense," Robinson said during the offseason, per Daniel Flick of SI.com.
Allgeier has indeed seen significant playing time. He's logged at least six carries in each of the last four games and has tallied five receptions over the past two. While his ceiling is limited as long as Robinson is healthy, his floor is solid too.
This week, Allgeier will be up against the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. If the Falcons can get up early, Allgeier and Robinson could each see double-digit carries with a handful of receptions in Week 6.
Allgeier is still available in over half of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.

Sleeper: Jalen Tolbert, WR, Dallas Cowboys

With Brandin Cooks landing on injured reserve following knee surgery, the Dallas Cowboys have needed someone to emerge in the No. 2 role. This past week, it was filled by third-year receiver Jalen Tolbert.
Against a good Pittsburgh Steelers defense on Sunday night, Tolbert snagged seven receptions on 10 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown. He should continue to hold fantasy value for as long as Cooks remains out, and Tolbert has a favorable matchup this week.
The Cowboys will host the Detroit Lions, who have an improved overall defense but have still struggled against the pass. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens have allowed more fantasy points to opposing receivers than Detroit.
The Lions also boast a potent offense that should keep the Cowboys leaning on Dak Prescott and the passing game. With CeeDee Lamb drawing most of the defensive attention, Tolbert could be in store for another big week.
The 25-year-old is available in roughly 70 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.
