Lakers Rumors: LeBron, Bronny Experience Described as 'Amazing to Watch' by Insiders
Watching LeBron and Bronny James during training camp practices together has been "amazing to watch," according to people who have been around the Los Angeles Lakers as the father-and-son duo prepares for the 2024-25 NBA season.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported the following on the latest edition of his podcast on Tuesday (24:37 mark).
"And talking to people who had been around the Lakers, they have just said that even watching them in little drills playing together has been really just amazing to watch and giving them the feelings all over."
The two took the court together for the Lakers during their preseason matchup against the Phoenix Suns last Sunday. Afterward, James called the moment "surreal."
He expanded upon what it meant to him after the game.
"For a father, it means everything," LeBron said, per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "For someone who didn't have that growing up, to be able to have that influence on your kids and have influence on your son. Be able to have moments with your son. And ultimately, to be able to work with your son. I think that's one of the greatest things that a father can ever hope for or wish for."
Bronny James said he was "psyched" but that it also seemed like a "normal game with my teammate."
"Just trying to live in the moment and do my job and find my role," the younger James added, per Jacob Lev of CNN.com.
According to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press, Bronny James "is expected to spend much of the upcoming season" playing for the Lakers' G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. However, Beacham added that "he will almost certainly get to play alongside" his father early in the regular season.
For now, the Lakers have four more preseason games, with the next one going down on Thursday at the Milwaukee Bucks. The regular season begins on Oct. 22 at home versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
