Davante Adams Cancels Kay Adams Interview amid Raiders Trade Rumors, Fan Speculation

Andrew PetersOct 7, 2024

An interesting element to the Davante Adams trade rumors emerged Monday night as fans continue to speculate on the future of the Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver.

The 31-year-old was originally scheduled to appear on Kay Adams' show, Up and Adams, on Tuesday, but he canceled the interview.

Kay Adams' post announcing the cancellation seemed to indicate some big news could be coming.

"Oh boy - lots happening at the moment with our guy Adams," she wrote. "… he won't be on TOMORROW. Sorry bout that and stay tuned."

Adams requested a trade from the Raiders last week after a frustrating start to the season for the six-time Pro Bowler. Las Vegas is seeking a second-round pick and additional compensation in return for the veteran.

Adams has been linked to the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets, two destinations that would reunite him with his former quarterbacks Derek Carr and Aaron Rodgers, respectively. A few other teams are seemingly in the mix too, one of which is the Baltimore Ravens.

After the six-time Pro Bowler canceled the interview, fans began speculating where he might be heading on Tuesday.

One hurdle in getting Adams traded could be the Raiders' asking price. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Monday that interested teams believe Las Vegas asking for a second-rounder while also asking the receiving team to take on the player's full 2024 salary is "unrealistic."

After he canceled his interview, though, it seems that the asking price might not have been as much of a hurdle as it originally appeared.

Adams canceling his interview could mean anything, but given the circumstances, it's hard not to speculate that it has something to do with a trade.

Fans could find out what it means on Tuesday.
