Every NBA Team's Toughest Free-Agency Decision 😬
LeBron and Bronny became the first active father-son duo in NBA history after Los Angeles selected the 20-year-old with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 draft.
The younger James made his preseason debut for the Lakers on Friday night during the team's 124-107 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He finished with two points and one rebound in 16 minutes on 1-6 shooting, but he was able to record three blocks.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick told reporters after the game that the former USC guard has made a strong impression on the team's staff throughout the offseason as well as the start of training camp.
"As a coaching staff, before the game, as we were kind of going over our rotation matrix, we were talking about Bronny, and he's had some really good days in August and September," Redick said, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "He's had three really good days this week. We're really happy with his progress."
Although he's celebrating turning 20 years old, James is still the youngest player on Los Angeles' roster.
He'll look to build upon his debut in the Lakers' next game, a matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Tip-off is at 9:30 p.m. ET.
