Colts' Anthony Richardson Doubtful vs. Jaguars with Hip Injury; Flacco Set to Start
The Indianapolis Colts will likely need to rely on Joe Flacco for another week.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Colts starting quarterback Anthony Richardson had been downgraded to doubtful for the team's Week 5 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars and that Flacco was "in line to start."

Richardson suffered an oblique injury early in the Colts' Week 4 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Flacco took over for him in that matchup and now will hope to carry that performance over to Week 5.
Richardson had gone 3-of-4 for 71 yards and had three carries for 24 yards prior to exiting the game with the injury. Flacco went 16-of-26 for 168 yards and two touchdowns in relief duty.
While Indianapolis is likely confident in Flacco holding down the position, the concern with Richardson's health is significant. He was limited to just four games during his rookie season due to an AC joint sprain and has now sustained his third injury of his professional career. This lack of durability is concerning for the 2023 No. 4 pick and the Colts will now hope it isn't messing with the 22-year-old's development.
He has thrown for 654 yards and three touchdowns in 2024 but has also tossed six interceptions. The Colts will hope the recovery period can give him some time to work on this issue and then return as the dynamic dual-threat quarterback that the team has seen in spurts.
