Jets Rumors: Mike Williams Eyed as Trade Candidate by Insiders If Davante Adams Joins
The New York Jets may have to offer up some roster talent to make room for Davante Adams.
Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported that the Jets may have to offer up wide receiver Mike Williams if they are able to acquire Adams and that teams may be interested in the 30-year-old.
Shedding Williams would not only make room for Adams on the depth chart, it would also clear up some necessary cap room to bring in Adams salary.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Williams has gotten off to a solid start to his 2024 season, making eight catches for 120 yards through four games. He is fifth on the team in receiving and is showing some flashes of his former ability prior to his ACL tear in 2023.
While he has been promising, Adams would still be a notable upgrade for a Jets team trying to make a splash. He has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown through three games in 2024 and has not had a sub-1,000 yard season since 2019.
He also is very familiar with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers from their time together in Green Bay. The two produced 8,121 receiving yards and 73 touchdowns together and that connection could be exactly what New York needs.
The Jets are 2-2 and hoping to reach the postseason for the first time since 2010. Adding Adams would be a major step towards that goal and Williams may have to happen to improve.
