Ryan, who was inducted during a ceremony at halftime, became the 14th member of the Falcons' Ring of Honor. He is the first former player to be inducted since Todd McClure in 2022.
On the night that Ryan was honored by the organization, Kirk Cousins set a new Falcons single-game passing record with 509 yards. He broke the previous record of 503 set by Ryan against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 of his MVP season in 2016.
The pass that allowed Cousins to break the record was the game-winner, when KhaDarel Hodge caught the ball and broke a tackle to go 45 yards to the house on the first possession in overtime.
A 15-year NFL veteran, Ryan spent the first 14 years of his career with the Falcons. He is the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards (59,735), passing touchdowns (367) and wins (120).
Ryan spent his final season with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022, but he didn't formally retire until April 22, 2024, when he signed a one-day contract to end his career with the Falcons.
The Falcons have a knack for making things dramatic so far this season. All five of their games have been decided by eight points or fewer, with their three wins coming on a score either in overtime or the final minute of regulation.
