ESPN College Gameday 2024: Location, TV Schedule and Week 6 Predictions

For the first time ever, ESPN's College Gameday rolls into the University of California, Berkeley, campus Saturday morning ahead of the Bears' showdown with the No. 8 Miami Hurricanes.

The matchup, the first between the teams since 2008, will see Cal look to put an end to Miami's dazzling 5-0 start and knock it out of the Top 10.

Miami Looks to Retain Top 10 Ranking

The Miami Hurricanes sit at No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25, with the nation's third-ranked offense and a star under center in Cam Ward leading the No. 1 passing attack in the FBS with just under 393 yards per game.

Ward has tallied 19 touchdowns to just four interceptions through the first five games of the season and should find success against a 39th-ranked California pass defense, which is allowing 182.2 yards per game.

The Bears started the season promisingly with a 3-0 record. Then came a disastrous 14-9 loss to a reeling Florida State on September 21 that halted their momentum and potentially cost them a spot in the Top 25.

They will look to get back to their winning ways and, with a defense ranked 12th in points allowed, have a chance.

Even if they allow Miami to pass the ball all over the field, if they can limit the number of touchdowns they yield and make the Hurricanes settle for field goals, the matchup is winnable.

Those are big "ifs."

The visitors are playing some of the best football in the nation, and on a prime-time stage, will have the opportunity to announce to the world that The U is back.

A win by 10 might be a stretch given Cal's defense, but it's possible, given how well the Miami offense is playing.
