Nick Sirianni Criticized By NFL Fans as Jalen Hurts, Eagles Lose to Mayfield, Bucs

The Philadelphia Eagles let a prime revenge opportunity slip away in Week 4.

The Eagles had an opportunity to avenge last season's Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday but instead found themselves on the wrong end of a 33-16 blowout loss.

Philadelphia trailed 24-7 at the half and did not have a significant push in the second half. The Buccaneers limited the Eagles to just 226 total yards and forced two fumbles.

Baker Mayfield torched the Eagles defense, going 30-of-47 for 347 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions while adding 11 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Jalen Hurts went 18-of-30 for 158 yards and a touchdown while also adding 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Saquon Barkley had 84 yards on 10 carries and Dallas Goedert was the top receiver with seven catches for 62 yards.

Fans took to social media to express frustration with the loss and remark that head coach Nick Sirianni's days may be numbered.

Philadelphia drops to 2-2 on the season and should still have some time to figure it out. However, the significant talent on the roster and frustrating play does make Sirianni's seat appear to be hot.

He has a 36-19 record and a Super Bowl appearance on his resume as the Eagles coach, but the expectations are still not being met. If the season continues to have these struggles, he could be seeing his time with the franchise coming to an end.

Still, he has some time to right the ship and the team will look to do that in Week 5 when Philadelphia hosts the Cleveland Browns.
