Why LeBron James, Dwyane Wade Injuries Should Have Miami Heat Fans Frightened
It's only been one game for the Miami Heat without superstars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, and while a win over the Hawks is nice, Heat fans still need to be a bit frightened concerning the two.
As far as James's ankle is concerned, it's not that big of a deal, but anyone who's had sprained ankles before knows they can linger on for some time. LeBron has had enough sprained ankles in his day that he knows how they affect his body.
Don't think Wade's situation is better, though.
While it may not be viewed as serious, Wade has had a history of injuries and this is something that can keep bothering him all season.
Just the way he plays the game and his fearlessness in attacking the basket, Wade absorbs a lot of contact throughout the course of a game.
There's a chance the more pounding his foot takes, it could get worse and linger on for quite some time.
If that's the case, Heat fans should be concerned about the health of their two superstars and the fate of their season. The only real thing that can slow Miami down is injuries to their key players.
Take the Lakers and Kobe Bryant for example. Just like as Miami isn't overly concerned with the injuries to Wade and James, the Lakers weren't overly concerned about Bryant's wrist.
Now, because of the contact that Bryant takes on a daily basis, we are now talking special treatments and what looks to be a season-long problem.
That's what the Heat can't afford with James and Wade. Any injury to the two that lingers on throughout the course of the season could eventually hurt this team in the long run.
