Video: Shedeur Sanders, Cam Newton Link Up Before Colorado's Game vs. UCF
The stars were out ahead of Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes' clash with UCF on Saturday afternoon.
Former NFL MVP and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Cam Newton greeted Sanders on the field prior to the contest.
On the other hand, it seemed like Travis Hunter might have been too busy for Newton:
Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens and rapper Rick Ross were both spotted in the Buffaloes' locker room before kickoff.
After an impressive 38-31 overtime victory over Baylor on Sept. 21, Colorado is searching for its third consecutive win.
Newton and Sanders have met before, as the Buffaloes' signal-caller was interviewed on the 35-year-old's 4th & 1 podcast on Feb. 10.
The Buffaloes have become known for celebrity appearances at their games since Deion Sanders took over as their head coach in Dec. 2022. During Colorado's 2023 campaign, actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and rappers Lil Wayne and Offset showed up to home games to support the team.
Shedeur will look to continue his strong start to the season against the Knights on Saturday. Through his first three appearances of the year, he's completing 67.9 percent of his throws for 1,340 yards and 11 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions. Sanders has also added another score on the ground.
He's coming off an exceptional performance in Colorado's win over Baylor, passing for 341 yards which included a game-tying 43-yard touchdown with no time left in regulation.
Two-way standout Travis Hunter has also been responsible for the team's success to open the season, recording 37 catches for 472 yards and five touchdowns. Hunter has also racked up 14 tackles and an interception at cornerback.
If Sanders and Hunter are able to secure another win on Saturday, the Buffaloes will match their win total from the 2023 season.
