Jets' Garrett Wilson Rips Giants Fan for Criticizing Malik Nabers' Drops: 'Shut Up'

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is not impressed with criticism of the New York Giants' Malik Nabers after the rookie wideout suffered a concussion in Week 4.

"Shut up bra," Wilson wrote on X in response to a fan critiquing Nabers' performance in the Giants' 20-15 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Friday.

Nabers set a record as the first NFL wide receiver to record 25 catches and three touchdowns in his first four games before leaving in Thursday's fourth quarter with a concussion.

He made 12 catches for 115 yards prior to the injury, which he suffered after landing awkwardly while diving for a fourth-and-6 on the Giants' 45-yard-line in the final minutes of Thursday's loss.

Nabers wrote on his Instagram story that he was "all good" after the game, then returned to the Giants' facility on Friday, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

He will need to clear concussion protocol in order to play during the Giants' next game, although the Week 4 game taking place on Thursday gives him more time to recover before next Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Seattle Seahawks.

Nabers' return will be critical for the Giants' hopes of recording a second win behind quarterback Daniel Jones as offensive coordinator Mike Kafka appears to be centering his team's passing game on the rookie wideout.

Through four games Nabers has made 35 catches on 52 targets, and after Thursday's game currently leads the NFL with 386 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.

The fan appeared to reference Nabers' drop of a fourth-and-4 on the Washington Commanders' 22-yard-line with two minutes left on the clock during the Giants' Week 2 loss, a moment he later told Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post was "hard to wash... away."

If Nabers is able to return for Week 5, the No. 6 pick of the 2024 draft could remain on pace to challenge the rookie wideout record of 1,486 receiving yards set by the Los Angeles Rams' Puka Nacua in 2023.

Wilson, the No. 10 pick of the 2022 draft, is meanwhile off to a quieter start to the season as the Jets continue turning to their running back duo of Breece Hall and Braelon Allen to drive offense. Through three games Wilson has made 15 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown.

Both he and Nabers are set to serve as key parts of their respective teams' offense this fall, and it looks like Wilson is so far keeping an eye on how those roles are being discussed on social media.
