NFL Fans Praise Packers' Malik Willis for 'Revenge' Win vs. Will Levis, Titans
Malik Willis earned some revenge against his former team on Sunday, leading the Green Bay Packers to a 30-14 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Willis completed 68.4 percent of his throws for 202 yards and a touchdown without recording a turnover. He also made plays with his legs, adding another 73 yards and a score on the ground.
He was nearly flawless in the first half alone, finishing 9-of-11 for 158 yards.
The 25-year-old started in place of Jordan Love, who missed his second straight game due to a knee injury.
Willis was initially selected by the Titans with a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. He appeared in 11 games through two seasons in Tennessee, including three starts. Willis was traded to the Packers on Aug. 26 as Green Bay searched for quarterback depth behind Love.
Fans and pundits were impressed with his performance on Sunday.
Willis was far from the only contributor for the Green Bay, as defensive coordinator Jeff Haley's unit held Tennessee to a mere 237 yards of total offense. Titans signal-caller Will Levis was also sacked eight times.
Levis finished 26-of-34 for 260 yards and two touchdowns to go along with two interceptions.
After Love went down near the end of the Packers' Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, there were concerns surrounding the rest of Green Bay's season. Willis has kept the team afloat, earning back-to-back wins in his first two starts with the team.
