Video: Bengals' Joe Burrow Says Tom Brady Provided Advice on How to Handle Fame, More

Paul KasabianSep 19, 2024

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has asked Tom Brady for advice on how to handle off-the-field situations, including dealing with fame.

Burrow's remarks were in response to a question from Rich Eisen, who asked the ex-LSU star what's the best piece of advice that Brady has given him. He responded as follows (1:32 mark).

"We talk a lot about how to handle off-the-field situations this year, and I'll keep that between us, but he gave me some really good insight about how to handle certain things outside the facility and how to handle those to best facilitate your success.

Eisen then asked if that was in reference to "personal stuff," and how to "handle fame and things like that."

"Yeah," Burrow responded.

"Fame, friends, family, relationships. I think that's one of the harder parts doing this is how do you handle those situations, and so whenever I can pick somebody's brain about how they handled it, because I think Tom handled it pretty dang well. Whenever I'm in one of those situations, I try to ask questions and take anything I can to help myself."

Earlier in the interview, Burrow said he's spoken with Brady "several times this offseason" and that the seven-time Super Bowl champion "is a good resource for me." He's also said that he's known Peyton Manning since after his first year at LSU and that he's "helped me a lot along the road."

Obviously, Brady is a good person to solicit advice from, given his tremendous resume. He's also been in a bright spotlight off the field as well, so Brady's a good person to speak with if Burrow is looking for help on how to deal with off-the-field situations.

For now, Burrow and the Bengals are focused on getting in the win column after an 0-2 start. Up next is a home matchup with the Washington Commanders on Monday evening.
