On Jan. 14, the Heat announced plans to unveil a statue of Wade and officially confirmed the event on Thursday. The statue will be revealed on Oct. 27 and the Hall of Fame guard will address Miami's crowd on Oct. 28.

Wade was selected by the Heat with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft, earning 13 All-Star appearances as a member of the organization. He was named Finals MVP following the team's 2006 championship run, winning two more titles with Miami alongside LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

Wade is the first Heat player to be honored with a statue.

He currently holds the No. 1 spot on the organization's all-time scoring list while also recording the most assists and steals in franchise history. Wade briefly spent time with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers toward the end of his playing days before returning to Miami for his final 2018-19 season.

He finished his career with averages of 22.7 points, 5.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 48 percent from the field.
