Daniels finished 23-of-29 for 226 yards without recording a touchdown or an interception. Even though he was sacked five times, he was still able to pick up 44 rush yards on 10 attempts and lead the Commanders on a game-winning drive with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.
Fans were amazed with his performance.
For the Giants, Daniel Jones was able to bounce back after a dismal Week 1 performance. Jones completed 57.1 percent of his throws for 178 yards and two touchdowns without recording a turnover.
New York suffered a costly injury to start the game, as kicker Graham Gano was hurt on the opening kickoff. Gano was a late addition to the Giants' injury report on Saturday with a groin issue, but he wasn't listed with a game status and was expected to be available (h/t Paul Schwartz of the New York Post).
This led to multiple failed fourth-down attempts and two-point conversions, as head coach Brian Daboll didn't trust punter Jamie Gillian following a missed extra point from him in the first quarter.
The Giants fell to 0-2 following the loss, while the Commanders moved to 1-1.
