Video: Deion Sanders Rips CSU QB Fowler-Nicolosi for Too Small Taunt to Travis Hunter

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders thought it was "stupid" when Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi made the "too small" gesture toward Buffs two-way star Travis Hunter.

Fowler-Nicolosi and Hunter exchanged words on the sideline toward the end of the second quarter and Rams player taunted Hunter as he ran back to the huddle.

Sanders was stunned to see Fowler-Nicolosi poking the proverbial bear like that and told reporters he would advise his sons against making a similar mistake:

Fowler-Nicolosi provided plenty of bulletin board material before the game when he told CBS Colorado's Romi Bean that Colorado got a "rude, rude awakening" in last year's matchup. He also said the Buffaloes' reputation was inflated by the attention they're drawing away from the field.

Talking trash after Colorado State lost to its in-state rival a season ago was a bold call from the redshirt sophomore, and it only looks worse after what unfolded Saturday night in Fort Collins.

Colorado came away a 28-9 victor and got big performances from its two stars. Shedeur Sanders went 36-of-49 for 310 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with Hunter 13 times for 100 yards and two scores. Hunter also intercepted a pass in the third quarter, which served as a knockout blow in the team's ongoing beef with Fowler-Nicolosi.

The result extended the Buffaloes' winning streak to seven games in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. The rivalry isn't scheduled to resume until 2029 and that gives the Rams a long time to stew on once again coming up short.
