NFL Execs Praise Aaron Rodgers: Jets QB 'Looked F--king Good'; Compares to Tom Brady

Paul KasabianSep 9, 2024

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly looked "f--king good" during a joint practice with the New York Giants in August, per a Big Blue official to ESPN's Rich Cimini, who relayed the remarks in a Monday article.

"He looked f---ing good," said the Giants official, who added that he doesn't see the 40-year-old signal-caller dropping off.

"Nope. He looks like Aaron Rodgers."

During that practice, Rodgers had so much confidence that he made this remark to No. 1 Jets wideout Garrett Wilson: "Hey, G, just run by his ass. I'll throw a go ball." Sure enough, Wilson ran by a Giants defensive back for a 55-yard gain.

Rodgers' 18-year career with the Green Bay Packers ended with an April 2023 trade to the Jets. His debut with the team ended in minutes after suffering a torn Achilles during Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

The four-time MVP is back, healthy and ready to lead the Jets into 2024, which begins with a Monday Night Football matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

An ex-NFC general manager also expressed hope about his future to Cimini: "He's an anomaly. He's Aaron Rodgers. He's special. He's Joe Montana, Tom Brady. When you're of that ilk, it can still happen [at his age]. But it's an aberration. It's not the norm."

Rodgers may look good in practice, and he certainly has the respect of other teams' personnel departments, but now the games begin for real when the Jets visit the defending NFC champions, who finished No. 3 in scoring and return elite talents such as Nick Bosa and Fred Warner.

Rodgers may certainly have some magic left, though. We'll soon find out when the Jets and 49ers kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
