Tom Brady: NFL Broadcasting Debut for Cowboys vs. Browns 'Can't Get Here Fast Enough'

Julia StumbaughSep 7, 2024

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady says his regular-season NFL broadcasting debut "can't get here fast enough."

Brady is set to call the Dallas Cowboys' season opener Sunday on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

"Obviously, super excited. There's a little anxiousness, obviously," Brady said during Fox Sports' halftime coverage of Michigan's Saturday loss to Texas. "There's been a lot of preparation that's gone into it from a lot of people, and it's been a couple-year journey.

"I think the thing that's most exciting for me is getting back to NFL football, being up here in the booth... I get to cover a sport that I absolutely love, and I'm very excited about that. It kicks off tomorrow, I couldn't be more excited about the matchup. Dallas is coming to Cleveland, it's a great way for us to start the season, and it can't get here fast enough."

Sunday's game will kick off the 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox Sports Brady inked with the network in 2022.

He will join play-by-play partner Kevin Burkhardt in the booth, replacing former color commentator Greg Olsen.

Olsen is set to remain a commentator at the network, where he will call games with partner Joe Davis.

Brady will make his debut after reportedly spending the offseason calling practice games in preparation for his new role, per Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports.

Although Brady will be restricted from accessing team facilities due to his pending stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, the seven-time Super Bowl winner will hope that practice will pay off on Sunday as Dak Prescott and the Cowboys face the Browns in Deshaun Watson's return from last season's shoulder surgery.
