Joey Chestnut Sets World Record, Beats Kobayashi in Hot Dog Eating Contest on Netflix
In the long-awaited renewal of the rivalry between competitive eating legends Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi, Chestnut won going away.
Chestnut smashed his own personal record, eating an astonishing 83 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Kobayashi also set a personal record with 66 dogs and buns eaten, but it wasn't enough to compete with his competitor.
After the display of record-setting gluttony, social media was buzzing from Chestnut's performance:
The victory earned Chestnut a prize of $100,000 and perhaps served as a reminder to the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest of the hype they lost when event organizer Major League Eating banned Chestnut from the competition for signing an endorsement deal with Impossible Foods.
Chestnut is undoubtedly the biggest star in the world of competitive eating. He proved as much, yet again, on Monday.
