USC vs. LSU Sets Attendance Record for Raiders' Allegiant Stadium, Tops Super Bowl 58

The 63,969 fans who attended Sunday's game between LSU and USC set a record for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

That number is even higher than the attendance for Super Bowl LVIII (61,629) in February, which saw Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs successfully defend their title against the San Francisco 49ers.

The fans in Sin City saw a nail-biter to open the college football season. USC running back Woody Marks scored with eight seconds on the clock to provide the game-winning score in a 27-20 victory.

The Trojans' Miller Moss and Tigers' Garrett Nussmeier waged an entertaining quarterback battle as well, combining to throw for 682 yards and three touchdowns.

The record-setting crowd underlines how Allegiant Stadium has quickly become a marquee destination for major college football events since opening in 2020.

The venue hosted what proved to be the final installments of the Pac-12 title game in 2021, 2022 and 2023. UNLV football and the Las Vegas Bowl now call it home after previously utilizing Sam Boyd Stadium.

Action Network's Brett McMurphy reported in May that Allegiant Stadium is set to house the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship Game as well.

Las Vegas isn't what you'd consider to be a college football hotbed, but it's having no trouble attracting fans from thousands of miles away for big games.
