College Football Rankings 2024: Predicting Week 2 AP and Coaches Polls
The AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll should experience a good amount of change.
The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to be on top of both polls entering Week 2, but there should be a ton of movement beneath them.
The No. 10, No. 13, No. 14 and No. 20 teams in the AP preseason poll lost in either Week Zero or Week 1.
Additionally, the No. 7 and No. 8 teams in that poll picked up impressive road wins on Saturday.
Only the Texas A&M Aggies are in danger of dropping out of the polls for Week 2, but the Florida State Seminoles, Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers should tumble a decent amount.

Georgia on Top, Movement Could Occur in Top 10
2 of 3
Georgia and Ohio State entered the regular season as the clear top two teams, and that will not change, at least entering Week 2.
However, the structure of the top 10 could be altered if the voters were impressed by the wins earned by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Penn State Nittany Lions.
Notre Dame earned a top-25 road win over Texas A&M, while Penn State demolished a West Virginia team that began the year on the fringe of the top 25.
A case could be made to flip Notre Dame, Penn State and the Ole Miss Rebels ahead of Week 2. Lane Kiffin's team opened with a huge win over FCS program Furman.
Notre Dame at least deserves to move up one spot due to the magnitude of its victory. Penn State may be stuck at No. 8 because no one above it lost and the Irish had the more impressive win.
The Missouri Tigers should take over the No. 10 spot that will be vacated by Florida State, who will drop spots regardless of what it does on Monday against the Boston College Eagles thanks to its Week Zero loss in Ireland to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Middle of Top 25 Will Be Shuffled
3 of 3
Florida State is one of three teams expected to tumble multiple positions in the polls.
The Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers fall into that group as well.
Clemson should plummet more than FSU and LSU because it was overpowered against Georgia on Saturday.
A small argument could be made to drop Clemson from the rankings entirely after the 34-3 loss, but it should hang on in the 20s.
LSU was far more competitive against the USC Trojans on Sunday. The Tigers should slip a few spots and likely slide in right behind the team that just beat them.
Florida State has a chance on Monday to save itself from a rankings freefall. An improved performance against Boston College might keep the Noles inside the top 15, but some voters may penalize them more for their season-opening loss to Georgia Tech.
