Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter Mesmerize CFB Fans as Deion, Colorado Win vs. NDSU

The second year of the Deion Sanders era in Colorado started on a positive note.

The Buffaloes beat a strong North Dakota State squad 31-26 on Thursday to begin the year 1-0.

It wasn't the easy season opener Colorado hoped for, as the Bison went into halftime with a 20-14 lead. The Buffaloes stormed back with a pair of touchdowns to take a 31-20 lead into the late stages of the fourth, but North Dakota State answered with a touchdown to make it a five-point game with two minutes left.

The Bison put together a strong last drive in the final seconds but ultimately came up a few yards short on a hail mary.

Colorado stars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter reminded the country just how good they are in the win. Sanders finished with 445 passing yards and four touchdowns on 26-of-34 passing. He was clicking well with Hunter, who finished 132 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Senior receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. also had an outstanding game, finishing with 198 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Sanders had an interception, but it was a stroke of bad luck as his pass went off of a Bison defender's leg and into the hands of Nick Kubitz.

As the Buffs started the year with a win, fans hyped up the connection between Sanders and Hunter.

Thursday's matchup with North Dakota State was a good first test for a revamped Colorado squad, but the Buffs don't get a break next week as they'll face Nebraska.

Colorado began the season strong last year, going 3-0 to start the year, but things quickly fell apart as the Buffaloes finished 4-8. Colorado looked good on Thursday, but the question will now be whether it can avoid a repeat of last season.
