Lamar Jackson had one of the top plays of the 2023 NFL season, catching his own pass after it was tipped at the line of scrimmage and turning it into a first down.

But Jackson confirmed Thursday during The Lounge podcast (13:50 mark) that failing to score a touchdown on the play "definitely" contributed to his decision to drop a few pounds heading into the 2024 campaign.

"That made me mad. That was supposed to be a touchdown," he added. "The crazy thing about it was I was like, 'If I catch my own pass with a lane, that's a touchdown.' And then it happened. I probably was a little shocked. It was like a movie. And then I got tripped up, I'm like, 'C'mon, man.'"

Jackson said his offseason adjustments have him feeling spry.

"[My speed] is definitely back where I was when I first entered the league and my first couple years," he said.

That's bad news for the rest of the NFL, which already struggled to contain the two-time MVP.
