Bill Belichick to Co-Host Studio Show with Peyton Manning in Addition to ManningCast

Scott PolacekAug 28, 2024

Expect to see plenty of Bill Belichick on your television this football season.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk noted ESPN revealed Wednesday the legendary head coach will co-host the studio show The Breakdown with Peyton and Belichick alongside Peyton Manning. It will start Sept. 6 on ESPN+.

The show will focus on Monday night games, which is fitting since Belichick will appear on ManningCast during 11 Monday Night Football contests this season.

Belichick will be doing plenty of media work outside of the Manning world, as he is also slated to co-host the Let's Go! podcast, host a show with Underdog Fantasy, appear on Inside the NFL and join Pat McAfee on Mondays.

"If Belichick gets his way, it'll be a one-year foray into media," Florio wrote. "He wants to coach again."

By doing so much media work, the 72-year-old will remain front and center throughout the football season. Fans and front offices will see him break down games and lend his expertise to ESPN, which will keep him on everyone's mind when the coaching carousel arrives after the 2024 season.

And he will be bringing arguably the best coaching resume of all time with him to that carousel.

Belichick is a six-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Coach of the Year who reached nine Super Bowls during his time with the New England Patriots and helped orchestrate one of the best dynasties in sports history alongside Tom Brady.

Yet he was unable to land a coaching job this offseason after parting ways with New England following a 4-13 effort in 2023.

Surely some team that struggles during the upcoming campaign will want to make a home-run hire next offseason, and Belichick will be right there waiting. He will also be plenty familiar with the players and teams in the league after doing so much work in the media during his year away from coaching.
