Tom Brady Voted NFL's GOAT over Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes in ESPN Player Survey
Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already established himself as one of the best players of his generation, but he still has some work to do before he earns the "GOAT" moniker.
ESPN polled a group of 103 players from 25 teams, and 85 of them voted Tom Brady as the NFL's GOAT over Mahomes, who earned just seven votes.
When it came down to overall talent, players gave Mahomes the nod over Brady.

"No disrespect to Tom ... but I'm taking Pat," one NFC South player said. "Pat can do everything Tom can do, and he's mobile."
However, Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion, which the majority of players viewed as the biggest distinction between him and Mahomes, who owns three championship rings.
"Mahomes is on his way, but he's not there yet," another NFC South player said. "You can't disrespect Tom Brady. He has seven rings. That's a long way to go."
Mahomes is a savant under center and makes dazzling plays whenever he steps onto the field. He's hoping to help the Chiefs win a third straight Super Bowl title this year, something Brady has never done.
"Mahomes is on track to be the best ever," an AFC South player who voted for Brady said. "He's just got some of those skills that you can't teach."
Entering the 2024 season, the Chiefs added more talent around Mahomes by signing receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and drafting speedy wideout Xavier Worthy. Kansas City retained much of its core from last year's championship team, giving Mahomes a strong chance of moving one step closer to matching Brady.
A three-peat will certainly boost Mahomes' resume in the ongoing GOAT debate, but Brady seems to be firmly entrenched in that spot for the foreseeable future.
