NFL Rumors: Dalvin Cook to Visit Cowboys After CeeDee Lamb's $136M Contract
After locking up star receiver CeeDee Lamb with a four-year, $136 million contract extension on Monday, the Dallas Cowboys reportedly are turning their attention to the running back position.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys are set to host veteran speedster Dalvin Cook for a visit on Monday night.
Pelissero added that Cook "hit the weights all offseason and says he feels the best he has in years." He was recovering from shoulder surgery last offseason when he signed with the New York Jets, and he never found his footing throughout the 2023 season.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Cook produced career lows across the board with 67 carries for 214 yards and no touchdowns in 15 games with the Jets. He mutually agreed to part ways with the team in January and signed with the Baltimore Ravens, making his team debut in the AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Houston Texans. He finished with 23 rushing yards in Baltimore's 34-10 win, including a 19-yard run on his first carry.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Cook would immediately be in contention for the No. 1 spot on the depth chart if he signed with the Cowboys. Dallas is expected to use a committee approach this year with Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle, as 2023 starter Tony Pollard departed to sign with the Tennessee Titans as a free agent this offseason.
The Cowboys are hoping to compete for a spot in the Super Bowl this season, so it makes sense that they are trying to add as much talent as they can get. With the team's offense expected to flow through Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott, Dallas will need a reliable running back to take pressure off the passing attack, and Cook could be the right person for the job.
