NFL DC Baffled by Will Levis: 'Don't See the Upside' But 'Hard to Judge' Titans QB

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is coming off a decent first year in the league and looking to turn heads in his second season.

Ahead of the 2024 campaign, one NFL defensive coordinator said he doesn't "see the upside" but admitted that it was difficult to gauge Levis' performance in his limited action with a less-than-stellar offensive line.

"It's hard to judge him on last year because their line was so bad," a defensive coordinator said, per The Athletic's Mike Sando. "I'll give him a 4, but if I'm being honest, I think next year is maybe a 3 and that's it. I don't see the upside."

Levis played just nine games in 2023, totaling 1,808 passing yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions and going 3-6 in his appearances, though he played just one drive in one of those games.

The Titans' offensive line allowed Levis to be sacked 28 times last year, but adding a pair of first-rounders in JC Latham and Peter Skoronski could lead to improvement this season.

This year will also be Levis' first full year as a starter, barring any injuries. He began the year behind Ryan Tannehill but moved into a starting role in November as the veteran struggled. The limited action at starter meant Levis didn't have much time to get comfortable in the offense and gain his footing in the league, but another year in the NFL should make a difference.
