Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Congratulated by Kyler Murray, More NFL Stars on $136M Contract

Kyler Murray is thrilled for his college teammate.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback was among those in the NFL who reacted to the Monday announcement from the Dallas Cowboys that they agreed to a new deal with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the contract is worth $136 million over four years and includes a $38 million signing bonus, which is a record for a wide receiver.

Murray put an Oklahoma touch in his response, while others reacted to the money aspect:

Murray and Lamb worked some magic together for the 2018 Sooners.

The quarterback won the Heisman Trophy by completing 69 percent of his passes for 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions while adding 1,001 yards and 12 scores on the ground. Lamb notched 65 catches for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Oklahoma won the Big 12 title and advanced to the College Football Playoff with the duo leading the way.

Lamb showed enough in college to convince the Cowboys to select him with a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Since then, he has become one of the best receivers in the league with a resume that includes three straight Pro Bowl selections.

He was a First-Team All-Pro last season with an NFL-best 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. At just 25 years old, there is no reason to think he can't improve over the course of this new deal.

Dallas still has to sign quarterback Dak Prescott or pass-rusher Micah Parsons to long-term deals if it is going to keep the current core together over the course of Lamb's contract, but Monday's agreement was an excellent starting point.

It was able to keep arguably the best wide receiver in the league and can now turn its attention elsewhere.

And those next deals will likely generate plenty of reaction as well.
