NFL Coach: Jalen Hurts Exposed, 'Word Is Out' Eagles QB 'Will Panic' from Zero Blitz
Jalen Hurts regressed in the 2023 season, throwing a career-worst 15 interceptions. And there are those who believe NFL defenses have solved how to play against him.
"The word is out there, if you run zero (blitz) against Hurts, or show zero and back everyone out, he will panic," a defensive coach told The Athletic's Mike Sando. "That has to change. They lose Jason Kelce, who handled the protections, basically did everything, and you bring in a coordinator who likes to drop back. It will be interesting."
It isn't the first time Hurts' purported deficiencies have been laid bare. San Francisco 49ers edge-rusher Nick Bosa encouraged other teams to follow their defensive game plan after a 42-19 win against the Birds in early December.

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
"You see it on tape," he told reporters. "Obviously, we put the blueprint out there. Hopefully, the Dallas Cowboys watch the tape. We made Jalen stay in the pocket instead of escaping out of those B-gaps, and it paid off."
"Jalen's looking at the rush every play," he added. "You just have to be disciplined and not give him that quick escape route where he can get to his guys quick."
Granted, the Eagles in general collapsed last season, losing six of their final seven games including the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. Nick Sirianni's offensive scheme was a huge part of those failings, as the passing game devolved into either slow-developing deep routes or quick, largely ineffective bubble routes, much to the reported chagrin of the quarterback.
The hope is that new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore brings more variety to the scheme and rejuvenates Hurts.
