NFL DC Rips Cowboys' Dak Prescott: 'Proves' Every Year 'That He Cannot Get It Done'
The book is out on Dak Prescott—he's a fantastic quarterback during the regular season, but once the playoffs roll around, his quality of play drops.
So when 50 NFL coaches and executives voted on The Athletic's 2024 QB Tiers, it wasn't surprising to see Prescott in Tier 2.
"I have always given Dak a 2," a defensive coordinator told The Athletic's Mike Sando. "When I did it this year, I gave him a 3. He proves year in and year out that he cannot get it done (in the postseason)."

It was readily apparent in the 2023 season, when Prescott threw a pair of interceptions—including a pick six—that dropped the Dallas Cowboys into a 27-0 hole against the Green Bay Packers.
The Cowboys would attempt to rally, but the damage was done—the Packers ultimately won 48-32, eliminating the higher-seeded Cowboys in the Wild Card Round.
Prescott is just 2-5 in the postseason, with a mediocre 14-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Until he proves he can lead Dallas on a Super Bowl run, he'll never crack that top tier of quarterbacks, which according to NFL coaches and executives only currently includes Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen.
