Fantasy Football 2024: Mock Draft Cheat Sheet, Printable Rankings and Fun Team Names
Quarterbacks might run the real-life NFL, but running backs and wide receivers are fantasy football's true royalty.
The elites at these position simply shine brightest than the others.
Having a top-shelf, heavily featured ball-carrier or pass-catcher is a fantasy asset like none other. That's why these positions are populate so much of a draft's early rounds.
We're going to take things even further, though, by mocking a three-round draft in which only backs and receivers are on the board. After spotlighting a couple sleepers at each spot, we'll close with a batch of running back- and receiver-themed team names.
Printable cheat sheets for various fantasy formats are available at ESPN.com.

Running backs
Jonathon Brooks, Carolina Panthers
While some fantasy seasons can get late pretty quickly, patience is still an underrated asset. If you choose the right player to wait for, you could extract major value down the line.
Brooks will start the season on the PUP list, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, meaning he will miss at least the first four games of the season. However, he appears as worth the wait as anyone. He is still working his way back from an ACL tear, but as soon as he gets the green light, he could be off to the races.
The Panthers traded up to get the three-down back with the No. 46 pick, meaning they might give him every opportunity to surpass Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders on the pecking order.
Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
Chicago's running back room is admittedly crowded, but if Herbert is as good as he can be, then it's hard to imagine D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson will keep him off the field. And Herbert can be pretty electric, as FantasyPros' Derek Brown noted that last season Herbert "ranked 12th in explosive run rate and ninth in missed tackles forced per attempt."
Being a featured running back in an offense quarterbacked by a rookie (Caleb Williams) should be incredibly fruitful. Herbert has a non-zero chance of securing that gig and then posting special stats shortly thereafter.
Wide receivers
Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
Worthy is a home-run threat with record-breaking speed. Plugging him into a Patrick Mahomes-led offense should be a cheat code.
Worthy intrigues as a deep-ball favorite in this aerial attack, but the rookie first-rounder could be much more than a specialist speedster. Kansas City could have more targets available than you might think with Rashee Rice facing a possible suspension, Marquise Brown dealing with a shoulder injury and Travis Kelce fast approaching his 35th birthday.
Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys
Only deep-league drafters likely need to spend a pick on Tolbert, but he should be under close watch from everyone. He appears in line for the No. 3 receiving role, and he has already developed a strong chemistry with Dak Prescott.
With CeeDee Lamb awaiting a new contract, and Brandin Cooks appearing on the decline, Tolbert has the chance to become a not insignificant part of this offense, which was the league's highest scoring last season.
