Ravens' Lamar Jackson Jokes About Flag Football Debate: 'Let Me Assemble the Squad'
Lamar Jackson is ready to sculpt a strong U.S. flag football team if necessary.
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback weighed in on the flag football debate between active flag players and NFL players. He said that the flag players should "have their league" but that if they continue to say they are better, than Jackson will build an elite team.

This comes after Team USA quarterback Darrell Doucette said that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes "isn't a better flag football quarterback" than himself. Some people question whether or not gridiron football players could translate to this level, given the differences between the sports.
However, flag football may suit Jackson's game particularly well.
Jackson just won his second MVP trophy in 2023 after throwing for 3,678 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions and adding 821 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
He is extremely hard to tackle in gridiron football and that would only be elevated in flag. He also has some exposure to the game from when he and his Ravens teammates taught it to British children prior to the Ravens Week 6 game in London.
Flag football is set to debut at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, which will take place during the early stages of NFL training camp. Whether or not the NFL players participate, it should be a fun sport to watch during that Olympic cycle.
