Trey Lance Baffles NFL Fans with 5 INTs, Long Rushing TD in Cowboys' Preseason Finale

Trey Lance's future in the NFL is reliant on a team taking a chance.

The 2021 No. 3 pick did not work out with the San Francisco 49ers and currently serves as a third-string quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

In Dallas' final preseason game of the year against the Los Angeles Chargers, he got one last chance to show what he could do—and let's just say it was a mixed bag.

He went 33-of-49 for 323 yards and a touchdown while adding 90 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. However, he tossed five interceptions and was sacked three times in the 26-19 loss. One of those interceptions came at the end of the fourth quarter when Dallas had a chance to tie the game.

Fans took to social media to express shock at Lance's performance and debate his future in the league after a truly baffling performance.

Lance doesn't figure to see much action for Dallas in 2024, but he remains an intriguing developmental option for the Cowboys—especially with Dak Prescott entering a contract year.
