Video: Broncos' Sean Payton Reveals How Michael Jordan Made Him 1st Jordan Brand HC
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is the most stylish coach in the league, as he's the only one with a Jordan brand deal.
During an appearance on Scoop City, Payton revealed how the deal came about while speaking to Dianna Rusini and Chase Daniel, explaining that a chance encounter with Michael Jordan himself around the time of Super Bowl LIV in Miami in February 2020 was the facilitator.
"He had just come in and met us, we sat and talked. We talked tequila, he had just started a brand of tequila. And then he said, 'I know you wear the Jordan 11 golds. I'm gonna make you my first Jordan brand coach,'" Payton recalled around the 38:30 mark. "I was like, 'That sounds good.'"

Payton went on to add that he receives so much merchandise that he's had to give some of it away to his son, Connor, and some of his players.
"We got our membership, we're fired up, and three weeks later, like 15 boxes came of just different Jordan shoes," Payton said. "Now, the only good thing is that my son is a [size] 13 as well. ... The shoes come in, the clothes come in, I don't ever take it for granted, I'm real appreciative. For players, the rule is if I gift you one of those, you can't sell them, obviously. But I could tell you right now everyone who's a 13 in the locker room, and they're always waiting for the next shipment."
Payton and the Broncos are hoping the good vibes will help lead to more success this season after their 8-9 finish to the 2023 campaign.
