Deion Sanders to Wear Custom Headsets to Match Colorado Helmets During 2024 Season
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and his staff will wear custom headsets on the sideline that match up with the helmets for the Buffaloes players this season.
"Coach Prime will wear eight unique headsets throughout the season, designed to coordinate with his team's helmets and prominently featuring the Aflac logo," the school said Monday. "Each headset was meticulously created to match the Buffaloes' on-field uniform combination every week so Coach Prime's game looks will be in sync with his players."
Sanders was already a commercial pitchman for Aflac, something to which college football fans were well aware thanks to how frequently the company's ads aired during games. Buffaloes athletic director Rick George also credited Aflac with being "a terrific partner of CU Athletics."
The new headsets will make their debut when Colorado kicks off the season on Aug. 29 against North Dakota State.
Considering how much fashion has become a part of college football in terms of team uniforms, it was only a matter of time before coaching accessories followed suit. Coach Prime and the Buffs could help to spark a wider trend.
