Brown posted the photos while on vacation in Manama, Bahrain. Some, like Celtics legend Kevin Garnett, believe the intense workout indicates that the 27-year-old is in for a big year this season.
Brown first unveiled his underwater training during the 2022 offseason with a video on social media where he was seen doing squat jumps, backflips and other workouts while holding dumbbells underwater:
After helping lead the Celtics to their first NBA championship since 2008, Brown spoke to YouTuber KT The Arch Degree in June and discussed how underwater training has benefitted him:
"The more I've embedded myself in water, the more I've seen my body transform in the last couple of years," Brown said at the 18:40 mark. "I've just gotten more athletic, I've gotten faster, I've gotten bigger and stronger and I credit it a lot to improving my relationships with the water."
Brown went on to reveal that he's done workouts that are typically reserved for the Navy SEALs, like swimming laps in a 10-foot pool while wearing a 50-pound vest.
After being left off the Team USA roster that earned a gold medal in the Paris Olympics this summer, Brown was already expected to be extra motivated to have a big year in 2024-25. These workouts will make him even more effective as he brings the momentum from the 2024 playoffs into this season.
