Ex-Iowa star Kate Martin waived by WNBA team
This was her 225th assist of the season, which breaks the previous record of 224 that had been set by Ticha Penicheiro in 1998. Her mark came during a 30-game season and Clark achieved the feat in 28 games
Clark was the No. 1 pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft and has lived up to the hype so far. She is averaging 17.6 points, 8.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 27 games for the Fever in 2024.
She has made a signficant impact on Indiana this season. The Fever are currently 12-15 and sit in 7th place in the league. This is already just one win shy of their win total from 2023 and has already eclipsed the win totals from the 2022, 2021 and 2020 seasons.
Indiana is seeking it's first playoff appearance since 2016 and first winning record since 2015. Clark's contributions have surely made a huge difference in the team's contention chances and she now has 12 remaining games to set an incredibly high bar for the assist record.
