After the win, O'Neill joked that she thought her celebration was better than Raygun's Olympic performance, adding that she might have to take an MMA hiatus to compete in breaking at the Olympics:
O'Neill won by unanimous decision in the third round. This was her 10th overall victory but just her first since 2022. It breaks a two-fight losing streak and the celebration shows that she gained some inspiration from her fellow countrywoman.
Raygun, whose real name is Rachael Gunn, attained viral fame for her performance in Paris. She lost all three matchups 18-0 but her unique take on breaking as a sport made her the subject of support and criticism.
While she did not capture any medals, she is probably the breakout star from the event in mainstream circles and O'Neill's reference shows the impact she has had on her country's athletes.
