NFL Playoff Schedule 2012: Conference Championship Games We Can't Wait to See

Gabe ZaldivarJun 1, 2018

While this weekend may indeed be wild, what we crave are the games between those teams that truly matter.

It's time to look past these games, which will no doubt be engaging and a great deal of a good time. They will not, however, be surprising. We can pretty much slice through and envision what the likely scenarios are for a couple of likely championship games.

If you ever wondered what a perfect world would look like, this would be it. In a couple weeks, nothing less than the Super Bowl will be up for grabs, and these are the teams that should be playing for it.

AFC

The AFC is a crazy conference with a few teams that can make a stand and move in on the title game. Hell, even the Denver Broncos could shock a lot of people if their defense comes back to form. Even then, I don't see their defense clicking in time.

Here are a couple AFC Championship Games that would be amazing to watch:

Ravens vs. Patriots: Here is the obvious choice, but one with a very intriguing subplot. This would be Joe Flacco's perfect opportunity to show that he is indeed an elite quarterback, and he could do it against the best in the business.

Broncos vs. Ravens: I know, this is a silly, silly suggestion. However, this would mean that Tebow is back to winning and the nation is glued in. No AFC Title game can ever match the ratings of this game.

NFC

This is the conference that I am really interested to see play out. The Saints are playing out of their minds right now and are pretty much unbeatable. Here are the games that would be true marvels considering how things look right now.

Saints vs. Packers: This is the only game I want to see this winter. Two of the best quarterbacks this season go head to head in the only shootout you ever need to see.

Giants vs. Lions: This would have historic value as the Lions play for a Super Bowl bid. The game is far better when the Giants are hitting hard and inching toward the Super Bowl. Let's see what Eli Manning can do against that pass rush.

It's time to bust out the Tim Tebow Snuggie and hunker down for the month. This weekend may be wild, but it's just the beginning.

Here is to hoping that some truly epic clashes come to fruition.
