Following a wild start to the 2024 Little League World Seriesthat saw two no-hitters through the first four games Wednesday, the most prestigious tournament in kids baseball continues Thursday with four more showdowns.

2 No-Hitters Dominate Day 1 Play

Mexico and Chinese Taipei dominated from the mound Thursday, with each team throwing a no-hitter to kick off the 2024 Little League World Series.

Antonio Guerrero of Mexico pitched five flawless innings, reaching speeds of 77 mph as he set the stage for the first no-hitter of the day. Matamoros Little League would put two runs on the board and that was all they needed to secure the win.

Later in the day, Lai Cheng-Xi and Ciou Zhi-Kai combined for another dominant performance from the mound while the Chinese Taipei offense went to work, compiling eight runs in a one-sided victory over Canada.

The two victorious teams set the tone for the rest of the tournament, and should their pitching hold up to that level through the rest of the tournament, they could find themselves competing for a title.

Elsewhere, the Hawaiian squad out of the West Region scored a 3-1 win over Salem, the New Hampshire team from the New England Region. And Lake Mary, Florida's Little League squad, bested the team out of Sioux Falls, North Dakota.
