Caitlin Clark on Possibly Joining Unrivaled 3x3 League: I'm Just 'Focused' on WNBA

Julia StumbaughAug 14, 2024

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark said Wednesday that she is focused on her WNBA career rather than the possibility of joining the Unrivaled 3x3 League.

"Honestly, I'm just focused on this right now," Clark said (h/t ClutchPoints' Matthew Byrne.) "One thing at a time. Can't always just be moving on to the next, my focus is right here."

The 3x3 league, which was developed by the New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart and Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier, is set to debut in January 2025.

The league will feature 40 players on six teams competing in 3-on-3 basketball for eight weeks over the WNBA offseason.

Stewart and Collier previously told the Associated Press' Doug Feinberg that players would earn six-figure salaries and receive equity stakes in the league.

According to Collier, there will be at least four WNBA rookies participating in the league's inaugural season, including Clark's rookie All-Star Game teammate Angel Reese.

The league has already signed players including Arike Ogunbowale, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Kahleah Copper. Unrivaled also received a future commitment from UConn star Paige Bueckers, who plans to enter the 2025 WNBA Draft and play for Unrivaled in 2026.

Unrivaled would likely be happy to add a high-profile young talent like Clark to the fledgling league, especially after her first season with the Fever coincided with league-high attendance totals in Indiana.

For now, however, it sounds like Clark is focused on finishing out the season with the Fever, who currently hold a 11-15 record and still have a shot at making the playoffs for the first time in seven years.
