Justin Jefferson, Micah Parsons Top NFL Insiders' Poll of Top Players Under 25

Julia StumbaughAug 14, 2024

NFL insiders remain high on Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.

Jefferson and Parsons were named as the top two under-25 players in the NFL, according to a survey of a dozen NFL coaches, scouts and front office members conducted by The Athletic's Mike Jones.

NFL insiders were given a list of 35 young players by The Athletic and asked to rank them, according to Jones.

Jefferson topped the list as the consensus No. 1 pick after exceeding 1,000 receiving yards in just 10 games last season. He was also No. 1 on The Athletic's 2023 edition of the survey.

Parsons came in second on the list after recording 14 sacks last season, making him one of just five NFL players to top 40 sacks in their first three seasons.

Next on the list are wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals and CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys.

Rounding out the top five is Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II. Surtain was also ranked as the No. 1 corner in the league in another NFL insiders poll conducted earlier this summer by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

There are four quarterbacks on the top-25 list, starting with Houston Texans signal-caller and reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud at No. 8. He is followed by the Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love (No. 11), San Francisco 49ers' Brock Purdy (No. 12) and Jacksonville Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence (No. 17.)

The youngest players on the list were 22-year-olds in Stroud, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (No. 19), Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson (No. 22) and Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. (No. 25.)

Both Jefferson and Parsons will have aged out of this poll by next year, so these young stars will look to climb the 2025 rankings with a strong season starting this fall.
