Blackpool Combat Club, Pac Win AEW Trios Titles in a Ladder Match at All In 2024

The Blackpool Combat Club and Pac defeated The Patriarchy, Bang Bang Gang, and House of Black in a four-way trios ladder match at All In on Sunday to win the AEW World Trios Championships.

Christian Cage was poised to retain the gold, but Pac rallied. He entered the ring and scaled the ladder while avoiding Killswitch, who was standing at the base of the ladder and attempting to fend off any combatants.

After having held the trios titles for nearly three months, the Bang Bang Gang were stripped of the championships by interim executive vice president Christopher Daniels July after Jay White suffered an injury.

The Bang Bang Gang were given an opportunity to win the belts back with Juice Robinson and the Gunn Club representing the group against Christian Cage, Killswitch and Nick Wayne, but The Patriarchy were victorious on the July 20 episode of Collision.

In order to determine The Patriarchy's opponent for All In, a No. 1 contender's match was held on the Aug. 10 Collision with the Bang Bang Gang taking on the House of Black.

Christian served as the special guest referee for the match, so it was expected that some type of shenanigans would ensue, and that was ultimately the case in the latter stages of the bout.

With all members of both teams incapacitated, Cage began a count to 10, but when House of Black's Buddy Matthews reached his feet at nine, Christian speared him, finished the count to 10 and ruled it a no contest.

In typical heel fashion, Christian was of the mind that The Patriarchy would not have to defend the titles at All In as a result, but he got more than he bargained for.

Rather than having to defend the AEW World Trios Championships against one team, The Patriarchy had to put them on the line in a four-way match.

Interim executive vice president Christopher Daniels announced on the Aug. 17 episode of Collision that a fourth team would be added to the bout and the titles would be up for grabs in a ladder match.

Both the Bang Bang Gang and House of Black previously held the trios titles, making them major threats to bring The Patriarchy's title reign to a premature end. Pac, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta were added to the bout by winning a wild-card match on Saturday night's episode of Collision.

The Patriarchy nearly overcame the odds to stay the trios champs, but there were simply too many challengers to handle.

For Pac, the victory was extra special to savor as an injury forced him to miss All Out last summer.
