Giants Rumors: Tyrone Tracy Jr. Week-to-Week with Low Ankle Sprain Injury
New York Giants rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been diagnosed with a low ankle sprain after being carted off the field during Tuesday's practice with an apparent leg injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported:
ESPN's Jordan Raanan had previously reported there was "hope" that Tray's injury wasn't "as bad as it looked."

Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com noted Tracy was carted off with his leg in an air cast after going down on a kickoff.
Per The Athletic's Dan Duggan, Tracy initially muffed the kickoff and his right leg appeared to buckle when he bent over to pick up the ball.
Tracy was a fifth-round pick by the Giants in the 2024 draft. He had the best season of his college career in 2023 at Purdue with 716 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games.
In addition to his work at running back for the Boilermakers, Tracy was one of the best special teams players in the nation. He ranked 16th in FBS in yards per kickoff return (25.5) among players with at least 16 returns.
Prior to converting to running back when he transferred to Purdue in December 2021, Tyrone played wide receiver for four years at Iowa.
Tracy made his first appearance for the Giants in a 14-3 preseason win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday. He finished with 26 rushing yards on five carries.
The Giants had Tracy listed as their No. 3 running back, behind Devin Singletary and Eric Gray, on their unofficial depth chart released prior to the matchup with Detroit.
Head coach Brian Daboll is working with a mostly new group of running backs this season. Saquon Barkley and Matt Breida are no longer with the team. Singletary was signed as a free agent in March to be the starter.
Tracy would have had an opportunity to break into the rotation in the regular season with a strong preseason. His injury clouds things right now, though we will have to wait for a timetable to know when he can return to the field.
