Video: Raygun's Viral Olympic Breakdancing Spoofed by Rachel Dratch, Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Fallon has gotten in on the Raygun craze after the Australian's memorable breakdancing performance at the 2024 Olympics.
On Monday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rachel Dratch interrupted Fallon's monologue dressed as Raygun and spoofed the dance that caught the attention of the entire world.
Dratch and Fallon previously worked together on Saturday Night Live from 1999 to 2004. They memorably played Sully and Denise, two Boston Red Sox-obsessed teenagers, in a recurring skit on the show.
Breakdancing made its Olympic debut at the Paris Games. Raygun, whose real name is Rachael Gunn, qualified for the Olympics by winning the 2023 Oceania Championship. She also competed at the World Championships from 2021 to '23, never finishing higher than 42nd.
Raygun did make history, of sorts, in Paris. She was the only dancer in the men's or women's competition who received a score of zero in any of her battles, though she did seem to be a good sport about everything afterward.
"I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best, the dynamic and the power moves, so I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative because how many chances do you get in a lifetime to do that on an international stage?" Raygun told reporters.
Even though the judges didn't go for Raygun's routines, she came out of the Olympics as a big winner because she's been one of the most talked about athletes in the world.
Now, Raygun has been further immortalized as a skit on the biggest late-night talk show in the United States.
