Haason Reddick, Jets Trolled by NFL Fans Amid Trade Request, Contract Rumors

Haason Reddick's tenure with the New York Jets has gotten off to a rocky start, to say the least.

The pass rusher, who was traded to the Jets from the Philadelphia Eagles just four months ago, requested a trade from the team amid a holdout over contract disputes.

Whether Reddick will be dealt is to be determined, as the team issued a statement saying it would not trade him, but fans still trolled the brief tenure playing for the Jets.

The Jets traded for Reddick in April, as the 29-year-old was seeking a pay raise when he was still with the Eagles. After an offseason of failed negotiations, Reddick skipped both mandatory minicamp and training camp. Now, it's unclear what comes next.

New York was hoping to get an elite defensive end in Reddick after he was named to back-to-back Pro Bowl teams over the last two seasons. Last year, he had 38 tackles, 11 sacks and a forced fumble. He led the league in forced fumbles in 2022 with five and also recorded 16 sacks.

If the Jets can get Reddick to stick around, he could help them finally become a playoff team after a 13-year drought. If Reddick refuses to play, New York might have to settle with whatever it can get in a trade.
